The League of Women Voters of San Luis Obispo County Presents

Lunch with the League Webinar

“Does Prop 1 Fix the Problems in Mental Health Services?”

Monday, May 5, 2025 at Noon on Zoom
Registration Required.
Proposition 1, or the Behavioral Health Services Act, was approved by California voters by an exceedingly close vote in November 2024. Voters approved the $6.4 billion plan to build treatment beds and housing for people experiencing serious mental health issues. The new law shifts priorities for local mental health and behavioral health service providers from prevention services to intensive services for people with the most significant mental health and Substance Use Disorder needs, including housing and full-service support.

At this webinar, learn how this recent legislation will change the services provided by agencies in SLO County and how the housing bond may impact local housing and homelessness.

This Lunch with the League program is part of the League’s efforts to educate and inform the public, to provide information that enables county residents to understand major public policy issues and how local government agencies are handling them.

This Zoom event is free to the public, but registration is required. Please register at lwvslo.org.
